GROUPS ANSWERED 2 QUESTIONS FOR RETREAT
1. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY AS A DIVERSE GROUP?
2. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO THE VAC?



GROUP 1
1. Better communication between vendors
2. Every vendor should have a monthly CAC and send a representative to the RCs CAC to bring back info. for consumers
3. Have CAC from all RCs go into communities and do a survey with consumers at least once a year to get feedback
4. Hire more SCs to lighten caseloads so that they can work more intimately and efficiently with their clients
5. Have more if not all flyers and info provided to consumers in plainer language with graphics


GROUP 2
1. Communication: Transparent, unfiltered form for discussion among stakeholders
2. VAC will provide ways for parents and clients to get information about their service options
3. Opening dialogue between agencies and the consumers they serve.

GROUP 3

1. Board and VAC member to have a mutual understanding of what each party does
2. continue the dialogue/partnership
3. Future improvements
Provide the Board with more concrete action items and recommendations in a more formal and structured way
Develop consistent ways to select quality, committed VAC members that understand the duties, commitment and VAC objectives.


GROUP 4

1. Transportation provider should not be part of the VAC b/c input because VAC meeting not addressing Transportation's concerns; want more participation from RC
2. ELARC's VAC and board of Directors have common goals and work in unison to achieve mutual vision.
3. Establish a PLAN OF ACTION when consumer is at at providers responsibility for long time to consumers floating around.
4. Resolve consumer issues rather than changing providers.

8. Baldo Paseta -Transportation: need confirmation

All Representatives were voted in May 07 to participate in retreat.
